I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Communication at Georgia State University, currently
dissertating. My primary research area focuses on ICT affordances and their influence on online activism
(more specifically on feminist rhetoric and intersectional mobilization). I am interested in social
media platforms as places where women form new meanings based on their own life experiences and
transform these into political action.
I have also completed a graduate certificate in the Department of Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies
(at
GSU). The coursework I followed during this program has significantly expanded my worldview and I
consider it one of the best decisions I have ever made.
I have recently started coding (website development) and I love it! I find it the perfect blend of
analytical and creative thinking. This new passion, together with my academic background, has prompted
me to read interesting books and articles on the gendering of technology, the gender and diversity gap
in tech, data and algorithmic biases, and more broadly on coding as a form of literacy. I share some of

When I am not at my desk, you can find me learning about planets and dinosaurs with my two kids. In my
free time, you will see me scrapbooking my adventures. I am always and forever
planning new projects and planting new dreams because life is too precious to make it boring.
